Frequently asked questions

The things guests ask us most — pickup and meeting points, what a price covers, and what the day actually looks like.

Booking & logistics

Do I need my own 4x4?

No — and you won't be driving. Every tour is fully guided in one of our own climate-controlled 4x4 vehicles, with a professional local guide at the wheel. All you bring is yourself.

Where do we meet, and is hotel pickup included?

We meet at 2182 S Hwy 191, Moab, UT 84532. Local hotel pickup — we confirm your pickup time 24 hours prior.

How many people are in the vehicle?

Full-day trips seat up to 4 guests; half-day and sunset departures seat up to 6. On the shared per-person departures there is a 3-passenger minimum; you may be paired with other guests. On a private booking the vehicle is yours alone.

Can I book the whole vehicle privately?

Yes. The half-day tours can be booked privately for your party from $789 for the vehicle, and both full-day trips are private-only, from $1,095. A private booking is never paired with other travelers.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.

Prices & what's included

What is included in the price?

Your expert local guide, the climate-controlled 4x4, bottled water, snacks, and local pickup. The two full-day trips also include a picnic lunch out in the park.

Is national park entry included?

No — park entry is not included in any tour price. On the half-day and sunset departures it is $15 per person, collected at the park gate, and holders of an America the Beautiful pass are covered by their pass. Park entry on the full-day trips is likewise not included.

Are taxes and fees included in the listed price?

Listed rates are pre-tax, exactly as they appear at booking. Plus 7.35% county tax, added at checkout.

How much does a tour cost?

Shared per-person departures start at $190 per adult, with reduced youth and senior fares on the tours that offer them. Private whole-vehicle bookings start at $789 for a half day and $1,095 for a full day. Every tour page lists its full rate breakdown.

On the day

What should I bring?

Closed-toe shoes, sun protection, a layer, and a camera. We provide bottled water and snacks.

How much walking is involved?

Most of the day is spent riding, with frequent stops for photographs and short, easy walks. The exception is the Arches full day, which is built around the Delicate Arch trail — three miles round trip across open slickrock, finishing on a cliffside path. The Arches half day offers an optional half-mile walk beneath the Eye of the Whale Arch.

Are there reduced fares for children or seniors?

Yes, on the tours that offer them. The half-day backcountry tours carry a youth fare for ages 16 and under; the sunset tour carries a youth fare for ages 14 and under and a senior fare for ages 65 and over. Each tour page lists every published rate.

What makes your access different?

Moab Scenic Adventures is an authorized concessionaire of the National Park Service providing guided interpretive backcountry 4x4 tours to both Canyonlands and Arches National Park.
